VES is stewarded by Veriscopic. Governance is designed to preserve technical clarity, public version history and an implementation-neutral standard.

Stewardship

VES is a published, implementation-neutral standard stewarded by Veriscopic. It is publicly published for review and implementation. Veriscopic maintains the specification, schemas, profiles, examples, change history and citation rules, and reserves VES marks, conformance language and certification use.

Stewardship does not imply that every implementation, evidence package or decision has been reviewed by Veriscopic.

Public change process

  1. Material proposals are recorded with their rationale and affected public semantics.
  2. Draft changes are versioned and published for review before being described as stable.
  3. Breaking changes require a new major version; compatible additions require a minor version.
  4. Corrections that do not change meaning may be published as patch revisions.
  5. Historical versions remain identifiable and citable.

Version and naming policy

Naming clarification — 2026-09-18: the standard was previously expanded as “Veriscopic Evidence Standard.” It is now named the Verifiable Evidence Standard to describe the property the standard enables. Veriscopic remains its steward.

Published evidence packages should pin the applicable VES version. Historical names and version records are preserved rather than silently rewritten.

Working-group interest

Insurance operators, assurance leaders, architects and technical reviewers may register interest in future public review and working-group activity by contacting standards@veriscopic.com. No members, endorsements or adoption claims are implied.

Verification boundary

VES verification assesses the integrity, declared provenance and structural completeness of a submitted Decision Envelope against a stated VES profile. A verification result does not certify that the underlying decision was correct, lawful, fair, compliant or complete beyond the evidence submitted.

Public governance also protects private implementation methods. VES does not publish Veriscopic capture orchestration, completeness-scoring algorithms, authority-resolution rules, reconciliation logic, State Comparison mechanics, Declared Validity logic or learning-loop mechanics.
